The Southern Experience

Mr. Ador Singh, his friend Clarissa Sawian and her family consisting of two members planned this trip to Kerala. For them this trip meant a unique experience as they were from Shillong, Meghalaya, the North Eastern part of India. They were completely ready for ‘The Southern Experience.’

Mr. Ador started his trip from Calcutta, India with his friend Clarissa and proceeded on to Chennai. From here, his friends had joined him and they travelled to Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station on the 28th of August. On reaching Trivandrum, they moved on to Kovalam.

At Kovalam, they opted for the stay at the Sagara Beach Resort. On arrival they were mesmerized with the beauty and grandeur of the resort. Though tired, they felt refreshed and relaxed by the ambience of the Sagara Beach Resort which offered amazing views of the beach as well as the lighthouse. The guests were given a warm welcome by the staff of this resort.

By the evening, after getting fresh, they moved on to the beach to enjoy the sunset and the waves. They also got to see the famous Vizhinjam Lighthouse of Kovalam. After enjoying they returned back to the resort for a good night’s sleep.

Next day (29th August), they went on a sightseeing tour in and around Kovalam and Trivandrum. They visited the attractions of Thiruvananthapuram Zoo and Museum at Trivandrum.

At Kovalam they went to the Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium and Hatchery and saw many species of fishes; the Kovalam Backwaters where they went on a boat cruise that took them to the Golden Sand Beach as well as the other beaches of Kovalam. Yet again they had fun with the sands of the beach. They returned back to Sagara for the night’s sleep.

On 30th August, they set out on a shopping spree. The made souvenirs purchase from the road side shops. They loved the shopping area which not only had shops but also had eateries that served a large variety of eatables especially the sea food. Being in a place where seafood is not usually available, they made the most of it. They tried various dishes that consisted of fish, prawns, crabs and so on. In total both their stomachs and hearts were fully contented.

By the evening, it was time for them to leave the God’s Own Country of Kerala. They left to Pondicherry/Pondy, the capital city of the Union Territory of Puducherry. Even though they were only in one place of Kerala, they had a fantastic time of their lives. They were in love with the ambience of the resort as well as of the places that they felt as if they were back in their homes. This 3 Days and 2 Nights trip, was indeed a trip of its kind.
