With the support of Japanese government, Kerala is planning to promote the state into a MICE destination. Recently the Kerala Tourism Secretary, G Kamala Vardhana Rao met Japans Ambassador to India, Takeshi Yag and asked for his support for promoting Kerala as a MICE destination for the CEOs of prominent companies in Japan and those based in India.
As per Rao, the Ambassador of Japan has promised all support to Kerala. Very soon the state would be having a meeting with the top executives of India based Japanese companies. Also the authorities will be arranging a meeting in Tokya of Japanese CEOs. As per reports, Kerala government had already reduced the luxury tax on auditoriums and convention centres having rents above 20,000 from 20 to 10 per cent.
