Ayurveda is the vedic system of holistic health care based on the ancient wisdom of good living. Defined as the Science of Life, this ancient system of medicine is health specific, not disease specific and takes into account the patient’s entire personality - body, mind and spirit – while dealing with the disease. Ayurveda uses herbs, oils and massages, diet and rest to heal and rejuvenate in order to restore balance and good health.
Kerala’s equable climate, natural abundance of forests, with a wealth of herbs and medicinal plants, and the cool monsoon season beginning June – November, are best suited for Ayurveda’s curative and restorative packages. Today, Kerala is the only state in India which practises this system of medicine with absolute dedication.
Ayurveda has developed as a unique, indispensable branch of medicine - a complete naturalistic system that depends on the diagnosis of the three body humours viz. vata, pitta and kapha, to achieve the right balance. Ayurveda believes in treatment of not just the affected part, but the individual as a whole, thus paving a natural way towards sustainable good health and rejuvenation, eliminating all toxic imbalances from the body and gaining immunity from illnesses.
