Surya Ayurveda Health Resort

Surya Ayurveda Health Resort is situated at Arimpur, Thrissur District. The location is just 8 Km away from Thrissur town, famous for the Vadakkumnatha temple where the spectacular festival of pooram with many caparisoned elephants take place. Within the proximity of the resort lies Guruvayoor temple, Punnathur fort, Vadanappilly beach and Vilangan Hills within the radius of 30 kms.

The resort is conceived to become a rendezvous for pleasure and purification. Sprawled across a 100 acres of lush greenery the location is surrounded by paddy fields and coconut groves stretching miles around. Though it's far away from the din and dust, all the urban comforts are in terms of accommodation and amenities. With the ambience of a heritage. the elegantly designed suits, the treatment centre, the meditation centre and the recreation facilities all form part of a different civilization.

The purpose of the resort is to condition ones mind by immersing in the age old way of life, Ayurveda.


 
 

Ayurveda treatments

Ayurveda has a special purification method called Pancha Karma which is a fine old purification therapy. It is mostly concerned with providing an increased and healthy life span, eliminating all impurities from the body. There are several other equally effective therapies like Abhyanga, Sirodhara, Shirovasthi, Pizhichil, etc. These therapies revitalize the body system and enhance immunity, vitality and vigor.

Sirodhara is good for preventing and curing diseases like paralysis, senile dementia and other neurological ailments. This will tune up the brain and improve memory.

In Swedana therapy the whole body is made to perspire by the external application of medicated packs in the from of boluses tied in cloth bags. The packs are made up of Rice ( Shashtika Pinda Sweda) or herbal powder (Navadhanya Sweda ) or herbal leaves (Pathrapodala Sweda). The treatment is useful in musculoskeletal disorders, degenerative conditions and neurological problems.
