Dewalokam Homestay is located 15 Kilo Meters from Thodupuzha in the midlands (spice belt) of Kerala, the centre of spices for thousands of years. You can reach in this farm house by 90 minutes travel by a Taxi. The farm has a rich collection of all spices like pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, turmeric and and so on.
Dewalokam is the ancestral farm of Alilakuzhy family an ancient Syrain Christian family of Kerala. They always want their guests to feel relaxed and happy. Their family will be delighted to take you through the organic farm and explain about the trees and plants in the farm. Most of the plants and trees are having medicinal values.
Dewalokam means paradise. Their concept is to retain the world as it was created by God, full of fruits and vegetables, milk and honey all produced organically without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. So your food is safe and no need to worry about that. The cost of the stay includes 3 times food too.
This is a place where you can truly wind down, swinging in the hammocks dotted between the trees on the estate or floating gently in the freshwater pool.

Dewalokam farm is not a tourist centre at all. Jose and Sinta, farmers by tradition and teachers by profession, started taking in guests to stay with them, because their elder brother Fr. Paul Alilakuzhy visited the family farm with his friends in Germany. Soon, friends and family encouraged them to open the farm for paying guests.
You are most welcome to experience the warmth of Keralan family life at the home of Prof. Jose and Sinta. For Jose, though he is a Professor of English Literature at Mahatma Gandhi University, his first love is agriculture after his late father Joseph Paily. They have won the Best Integrated Farm Award from the Government of Kerala. Jose will be glad to take you around the farm and show you all the fruits, vegetables and spices and explain the theory of organic farming which they have been practising for generations. The children Tara and Paul are at school, but play a very important role in making Dewalokam a home to you. Guests are invited to the school where Tara and Paul study for interaction and voluntary services.

Eight spacious air-conditioned rooms are there in the main guest house overlooking the river and forest beyond the Nilgiri mountains. Another Traditional house in the forest , where there are three twin bedded rooms and an open-air shower set in a lovely inner courtyard.
