Family Outing At God's Own Country


Mr. Harish Gandhi from Maharashtra, along with his family consisting of a total of 24 members consisting of both adults and children, came to the God’s Own Country of Kerala, for a trip of 7 days and 6 nights.

They arrived at Eranakulam Junction Railway Station on 13th August 2017. From here they were taken in a Traveller to Munnar, the misty hill station of Kerala.  As they reached Munnar late, they checked into Tea Mount Suites in Munnar for the night’s sleep.

The next day, 14th August, they went to an Adventure Park where they had lots of fun. After this they moved on to the Mattupetty Dam. This place lies near the Anamudi Peak and this dam is surrounded by tea plantations and gardens. It is the still waters of Mattupetty that makes the place attractive. From here they went on to visit the Rose Garden and Tea Plantation. The Rose Garden greeted the guests with a colourful array of roses as well as other beautiful flowers. They enjoy a lovely walk through the garden. They then moved on to a Tea Plantations where they came across the process of Tea making. They also saw the tea plants which was grown everywhere in Munnar. At the end they came back to the hotel.

In the morning on 15th August the guests left to Thekkady. Here they enjoyed a boating in the Periyar River. The children were especially thrilled of the boat ride. They also did a little more sightseeing of Thekkady and returned back to the hotel.

On 16th August they had an experience of Kerala Culture. They were treated with a demonstration of Kalaripayattu (martial art of Kerala) and also a performance of Kathakali (a dance of Kerala). The guests were indeed mesmerised with this cultural experience.

At 17th August they arrived at the Sagara Beach Resort in Kovalam. The first went on a sightseeing tour around Kovalam. They visited the Museum and also the beach. Here too they enjoyed a round of boating. The boat trp took them to the various beaches of Kovalam like Samudra Beach, Hawa Beach and the famous Lighthouse Beach. They returned back to Sagara for their night’s stay.

The next day, 18th August, they checked out to go to Alappuzha/Alleppey for a Houseboat Cruise. They had a night cruise of the Houseboat. Here till nightfall they enjoyed the scenic backwaters of Alleppey. They also had lip smacking authentic dishes of Kerala for lunch, dinner and breakfast.

Their travel came to an end on 19th August. After the breakfast they left off to Ernakulam Junction Railway Station, for their return trip. They indeed had a great trip at Kerala. The whole family together had a great time especially the children.
