Onam at Serene Waters Panangad

Every day, everyone works in the same location. This may increase your collective feelings of boredom or cause some insecurities. So instead of working from a desk all day, we reasoned, why not get outside and try something new?

We the employees of Kerala Dot Com took the initiative to take a day off work and do our work in a different place. We chose Serene Waters Panangad as our Workplace. Its lush surroundings, backwaters, and sense of seclusion made it the ideal place for us. By 10.30 in the morning when we arrived, we were there until 5:00 that evening. We used the lawn and the outdoor seating area, which was lovely, as our workspace. Even though there was plenty of space within the property, everyone preferred to sit outside in the shade and enjoy the fresh air and lights from the sun. Along with us, we brought our laptops and all the other things required for our jobs. Since the property had a strong WiFi signal, we never experienced any connectivity problems. We felt completely renewed while lounging in a hammock between coconut trees and admiring the gorgeous colours of the sky at sunrise. Even though this was our first effort, we all worked diligently while having a great time.

In Kerala, Onam is one of the festivals that is most commonly observed. One of the festival's highlights is Onam Sadhya, a vegetarian feast made up of several traditional foods and served on a banana leaf. Onam season was in full swing, so we took a moment to rejoice and have Onam Sadhya. We all dressed traditionally, laid out a flower carpet, and participated in a variety of games relating to Onam. Overall, we had a great time, and the day was fantastic. We also recommend everyone to take such initiatives, so that they can create a change and set aside time for free and open interaction with workmates.
