A worthwhile trip to Nelliyampathy

We had always wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and take a relaxing holiday, but it would never go as planned and would also wind up being extended. But this time, we were able to make our trip to Nellyampathy a reality. Not much people know about this place. People cannot have a relaxing experience when places are overcrowded, therefore, it is preferable to visit some lesser-known locations. Nelliyampathy is one of Kerala's lesser-known hill stations with a pristine atmosphere. It was our first trip to Nellyampathy; we had no idea about the place and was little worried as we were travelling for the first time but much to our surprise, Kerala Dot Com Travel Division, the company we book for our tours, made this trip of ours, memorable and beautiful.

On Sunday morning, we were picked up from Ernakulam and embarked on our journey. Everything went according to plan. The driver was quite helpful. He didn't show any hesitation whenever we told him to stop. The journey was so good and we enjoyed lush greenaries on both sides of the road. Surrounded by greenery, one can stay close to the creatures of the wild. The beauty of the wild is at its best here. The voyage comes to a conclusion at the Vanya tourist resort in the middle of the jungle. The resort is located 5 kilometres from the town of Nelliyampathy. We travelled there in a jeep provided by the resort. The entire 1km journey took place through the woods. The property was immaculate, and the service was so satisfying. It's also a great spot to bring your kids because they'll get a lot of exposure to outdoors and wildlife. Just keep in mind that there is a lot of wildlife movement here at night, so it is better not to go out late at night. Constructed beautifully amidst the forest, each room have private balconies offering guests stunning views and all come with an en-suite. Guests come together at the cozy dining area.

Everything was thoroughly taken care of from start to finish. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and introduced to several staff within the hotel. From then onwards the experience of our trip just got better and better. We arrived around 3 p.m., ate, and After some rest, the guide drove us 7 kilometres from the resort to the Seethargund vantage point. To go uphill from the Estate entry point, we had to walk a tortuous trail that was over half a kilometre long. We had to park the jeep there and walk for 10 minutes to get to the vantage point. The vista is breathtaking. With clouds swooping by! And there's fog billowing out of the valley! There was a lot to see and do. Vanya View Point was one of their vantage points. As the evening progressed, we began to feel a little chilly. We went for a short stroll in the grounds while the guide told us about the resort and the wildlife in the area..We enjoyed a campfire at night, which brought the fun of the day to a close.

We awoke early the next day to watch the sunrise.  Nothing beats a tranquil daybreak in the middle of the forest, surrounded by all kinds of wild animals. A morning walk is full of benefits that can help you to achieve a successful day, aside from the obvious health and fitness ones. We snapped a lot of photos of one other and saw a lot of wild birds in the morning. We played games, and the resort has indoor game facilities, so we were never bored for a second. If one so desires, there are a plethora of options. If you merely want to sit by the pool, you will find full tranquillity. The landscape, like the rest of the natural area, is immaculately kept. By 8.30 we had our breakfast. The food was really good. The waiters were great in every way...polite and attentive. There isn't enough room in this list to detail all of the advantages. We departed the resort after a while. We were a few minutes late for our check-out time. However, they were able to resolve the situation without generating any issues. They returned us to the location where they had picked us up.

We drove straight to Karapara View Point from there. We saw a lot of wild creatures along the trip and stopped to photograph them. It's a secluded and beautiful place. Was all silent at the time of visit. A little bit of off-roading will take you to an upstream spot. But we were unable to go to the waterfall as it was closed at the time of our visit. The hanging bridge is a unique feature. We were fortunate enough to encounter wild elephants on the way back. Also we saw peacocks, monkeys, Nilgiri langur, Indian giant squirrel etc. At night we stayed at hotel jyothis, located at Nelliyampathy town. We were a little exhausted after all the sight-seeing and travelling, which explains why the day flew by.

The following day would be the most exhilarating as well as the most adventurous. An unforgettable trek was on our bucket list for several years. Meenampara was the first vantage point. We have a great view over Nemmara Town and the surrounding towns. The journey from there to the next viewpoint - Mattumala was considerably more difficult, but we had a great time. The vista from there, the tranquil ambience, and the ideal climate made the journey worthwhile. On the way to the last view point, it poured a little. However, I believe that was the most enjoyable aspect of the experience. We had the opportunity to immerse ourselves entirely in nature. Our favourite spot was Karashoori View Point, which is also known for the Karashoori Temple. It was the highest vantage point of the places we visited.

Every voyage teaches us something new, and we had many takeaways from this one. It was an eye-opening adventure for me since I learned a lot from the hardships I had on my trekking expeditions and applied what I learned in my life. So, in the evening, we eventually left for our house. We had a great time on our trip. We didn't have to be concerned with anything. Everything was in good working order.
