Jyothisha was first mentioned in Rig-Veda, later its details are also mentioned in Ramayana, Mahabharatha and Bhagavadgitha.Jyothisha is considered to be the prime eye of knowledge, which is pure, supreme and sacred. Astrology is at its root, guided by the vedic quest for Paravidya(supreme knowledge) and Apara vidya(knowledge of relative truths).
